I struggled making friends and good grades. I didn’t have any type of influence and I couldn’t “perform” the way I was taught growing up. So two months into the school year, I was depressed, anxious, and didn’t know who I was without accomplishments or success.

It was the perfect recipe for a real encounter with God.

Growing up in church, I always knew the Bible stories, but reading through the Bible for the first time my freshman year, I saw a lot of similarities between my life and and the children of Israel. They were trapped under Pharaoh’s rule. I was trapped by the opinions of others, idols of success, and the desire to be perfect.

It all started my freshman year of college.

He chose me in spite of my brokenness, pursued me when I didn’t think I was worthy, and accepted me when I couldn’t even accept myself. So in October of 2012, I made the decision to dedicate my life to Christ, fully surrender myself to Him, and I haven’t looked back since.

But God in His great love met me right where I was.

I poured my heart out while listening to Chris Tomlin and William McDowell and slowly over time, I started writing the lessons God was teaching me too. At one point, I thought those lessons were worth sharing.

So when I graduated college, I launched a public blog and dove head first into the world of content creation. Little did I know that one small step would lead to published books, seminary school, women’s events and now me talking to you right now.

When I started walking with God, I learned how to pray by writing on Google docs.

If that’s you, that’s okay!

After you’ve hung here a while, it is my deepest prayer that you will come to know just how much you matter to God. I hope you will believe that God finds you significant, you belong to Him, and He loves you more than you could ever imagine.

And if that’s not enough, I pray you will begin to be bold in who He says you are and experience a joy and freedom that cannot be explained. That’s why my personal mission is to teach and empower the Christian woman to conquer fear and self-doubt so that she can confidently believe who God has called her to be.
